The Restlessness of Being

I’m a doer. I do things. I do all the time. Do, do, do. We gotta do the things, right?

I do so much that when I stop to just “be” I feel insanely uncomfortable. Because when I’m just “being” things catch up with me. Yup, I’m talking about feelings.

Yesterday I sobbed in my bathtub because while I was just being, some feelings caught up with me. As uncomfortable as they were/are to experience, I’m glad they caught me. Now I can feel them out and allow them to heal.

Do you feel restless when you’re just “being”? Try sitting with that feeling for a little longer and get curious about what’s coming up for you. Maybe your subconscious is trying to get your attention so that you can process and resolve some feelings.

Be gentle with yourself.

It may be uncomfortable, but those feelings are gonna catch up with you at some point, and I know I’d rather have at least a bit of control over the when and how of it all. Again, be gentle with yourself.
