Positive self talk, on the other hand, has a magical way of propelling you forward toward your goals and desires. It creates a positive self-concept (“I am a capable person” vs “I’m a dumbass”), and inspires you to take action in your life.

It’s like Henry Ford said, “whether you think you can, or you think you can’t - you’re right.”
