Do you love yourself? If you just winced, read on…
The idea of self love may strike some as fluffy nonsense or conjure up memories of those Stuart Smalley sketches from SNL (“I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!”).
But it’s actually important. Super important.
Self love influences self talk, and the way you talk to yourself is the start of everything you want to be, do, and have in life. It shapes your self-concept and identity which then impacts the actions that you take (or don’t take) in the world.
Speaking kindly to yourself in your own mind is self love. And the more you practice a supportive inner monologue, the more confident and capable you will feel. And the easier it will be to achieve everything you want.
Try these statements on:
“I’m doing the best I can.”
“It’s okay to make mistakes.”
“I love myself.”
“I accept myself just the way I am.”
“Whatever I am feeling is valid.”
“I am kind to myself in thought and action.”
“I got this.”
I’m grateful to have this cross stitch kit from @subversivecrossstitch reminding me every day to practice self love. It was fun to craft and now sits boldly on my desk as a constant, powerful reminder.
We can love ourselves. We can.
Let’s do this.
