Do I coach myself? You betcha!
In this moment my thoughts went something like, “Oh, you stupid—[deep breath]— I love myself. I love myself. I love myself.”
It’s a way I combat my negative self talk. Cut it off and practice self compassion. Was it hard at first? You bet. Has it gotten easier with practice? For sure. Is my general brain chatter now fairly positive and supportive? It is (🥳) BUT only because I continually practice at it. 🤓
My clients often tell me my voice pops into their heads when they are facing challenging moments. I *think* they mean that in a good way(🤣), but in any case, I can guarantee I’m more supportive and affirming than anyone’s negative self talk. 💖
